New Year’s Weekend is a popular time for many couples to get engaged and this year was no exception. This weekend will be especially unforgettable for famous celebrity couple Paris Hilton and her new fiancé, Chris Zylka. The Leftovers actor got down on one knee on the slopes of Aspen and proposed with a 20 carat pear shaped diamond to the reality TV star and entrepreneur.

   

After asking for her father’s blessing and remembering that she once told him how much she loved her own mother’s pear shaped ring,  Zylka was armed with all he needed and reached out to his favorite jeweler.  “Paris was not involved. Chris did it all” his jeweler said. “He wanted to do everything so perfectly. He wants the best thing for his princess”

With a romantic Aspen vacation in the works and a proposal plan in place,  Zylka pressed the jeweler to have the ring ready in time for the trip. The 20 carat diamond ring that would have normally taken a team of jewelers three weeks or more to make, took the jeweler and his crew a total of two days. Impressive for such a beautifully crafted piece of art.

   

Hilton was quick to post her celebratory moment on Instagram. “I said Yas,” she wrote along with numerous photos of the proposal. “So happy and excited to be engaged to the love of my life. My best friend & soul mate… So dedicated, loyal, loving & kindhearted. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! You are my dream come true! Thank you for showing me that fairytales do exist.”
